Christmas lights

Onwards and Upwards

As we come to the end of a difficult year, my thoughts are with all those people who have suffered in so many ways.  People have lost their jobs, their livelihoods and, worst of all, in some cases, friends and loved ones.

It’s a year none of us expected, and which we’ll all be happy to put behind us.  At the height of the Second World War, Winston Churchill is famously supposed to have said, ‘If you’re going through hell, keep going.’ I know this year has been hell for many people, but all we can really do is keep going.  (Well, that and wear a mask, wash our hands and socially distance as much as we can!)

I’ve missed performing this year – and, even more so, I’ve missed being with all the people I would have met while performing.  I’ve made use of the time, though, to learn a lot more magic so that, when life returns to normal, I’ll be raring to go with a whole new act.  I can’t wait.  Not just to perform, but to see you all again in happier circumstances.

But for now,  as a very different Christmas approaches, I want to wish you all the happiest one possible – and the safest one, too.

Please take care, keep well and look after each other.

Until we meet again – a Merry Christmas and a Happy Covid-free New Year to you all!
